OnlineSurveys

Representative results with quantitative market research

Sound basis for decision-making

Quantitative studies are the preferred approach for many research questions. With high-quality, sufficiently large and representative samples, robust results can be obtained by surveying the target group of interest. intervista specialises in the design, implementation and evaluation of such studies.

As a rule, we use online surveys, whereby we can draw on different data sources depending on the study setup: First and foremost, our large and high-quality online panel serves as a data source for ad hoc and omnibus surveys, but quantitative online surveys can also be set up using customer addresses supplied by you or as an onsite survey via your website. We also have other ways of recruiting participants for such surveys, for example with postal invitations.

Nowadays, online surveys are the optimal method to conduct quantitative studies with representative results easily, quickly and with an optimal price-performance ratio.

Individual reporting

Do you prefer a results report with well-founded insights into your industry, a clear dashboard or real-time transfer to your systems? From intervista you receive the results of the online surveys quickly, reliably and tailored to your needs

Online surveys enable fast and comparatively inexpensive data collection, even with large samples. Compared to classic survey methods such as telephone interviews or personal interviews, they can often be carried out faster and more efficiently. They also offer a wide range of design options with images and videos, enable different survey approaches, can be easily implemented in several languages and provide quickly available results. Since no interviewee is present, interviewer effects are also reduced.

Recruitment depends on the target group and the question and is an important part of the study concept. Participants are often recruited via the intervista online panel, via customer addresses of the client, directly via a website or by means of postal invitations. Depending on the study, other access channels are also possible, for example via QR codes at the point of interest. Different recruitment channels can also be combined with each other if necessary.

An online survey is representative if the sample reflects the relevant population as well as possible in terms of important characteristics. Therefore, not only the number of interviews is decisive, but also the recruitment of the participants, the composition and control of the sample, the exhaustion and, if necessary, a weighting of the data. A high and as balanced as possible utilization helps to reduce distortions caused by different willingness to participate.

intervista designs the sample to suit the target group and research question, taking into account the relevant quality criteria for the most meaningful representation of the population.

The necessary sample size depends on the research question, the target group and the desired accuracy of the results. For many population-representative studies, around 1,000 people are surveyed. With an appropriately composed sample, reliable statements can usually already be made for the population as a whole.

In the case of specific target groups or B2B surveys, significantly smaller samples can also be useful and sufficient. In customer surveys, depending on the size of the customer base and the desired evaluation, significantly larger samples are sometimes used. If individual subgroups are to be evaluated separately or compared with each other, it can also make sense to specifically consider certain groups more strongly in the sample.

The process of an online survey depends on the needs of the client. In a full-service study, research questions, target group, sample and study design are defined at the beginning. The questionnaire is then developed or tested, the survey is programmed and the participants are recruited. After data collection, the results can be processed, analysed and made available as a data set, table volume, presentation, report or dashboard as required.

The individual services can also be obtained on a modular basis. For example, intervista can only take over the recruitment and provision of the sample ("sampling only") or provide targeted support for individual steps of a study. The scope of the services is flexibly tailored to the requirements of the respective project.

The costs of an online survey depend in particular on the number of interviews, the target group, the length of the questionnaire and the desired services in terms of conception, programming, analysis and reporting. Short surveys with a few questions can be carried out cost-effectively via the intervista online bus. For more extensive or individual questions, a tailor-made ad-hoc study is usually designed.

intervista combines its own large online panel with high quality standards and extensive experience in the design and implementation of market research studies. This allows us to reach the right target group for a wide variety of questions, via the intervista online panel, via customer addresses or via other suitable recruitment channels.

Our strength lies in the combination of methodological quality and practical advice throughout the entire study process. We develop a suitable study design, design well-founded questionnaires, control the sample in a targeted manner and accompany programming and fieldwork. We then analyze and interpret the results, prepare them in an understandable way and derive strategically relevant recommendations for action from them. If necessary, we also support their implementation in the company, for example with a results workshop.

Online surveys are suitable for many quantitative questions in the B2C and B2B sector. Typical areas of application are customer surveys, brand and image studies, advertising impact studies, product and price research, target group analyses and population surveys. Online surveys are particularly suitable when a larger number of people are to be surveyed in a standardised manner and the results are to be statistically evaluated.
